There are a lot of witchcraft products out there, and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming when choosing the perfect tools that will work best for your practice, not to mention expensive. That is why, here at Magic Spirit, we are huge advocates for being thrifty, and keeping costs to a minimum.

Our shop stocks a wide range of affordable items such as altar ware, candles, all kinds of spell ingredients and so much more, so for witchy items that you can’t create at home – we encourage you to come and have a browse. However, having said that, we believe that witchcraft is for everyone, so let us share with you a few ways that you can practice this wonderful faith whilst keeping the costs low.

Use what you have on hand in the kitchen

If you walk into your kitchen right now and start trawling through your cupboards, you’ll probably already have a vast collection of herbs, ingredients and utensils that you will be able to use whilst practicing witchcraft. Common kitchen herbs such as rosemary, cinnamon or bay leaves are extremely useful, as well as every witch’s must-have item – salt. You can make potions, use these ingredients as part of your rituals, harness the properties of these ingredients within your cooking, or make offerings to any deities or spirits you may work with.

Even items such as a pestle and mortar are useful for grinding your ingredients to create powders and potions for spells.

Items that nature gives us for free

Our faith is rooted in the worship of the natural world, so it is unsurprising that often, we use products of the earth, such as soil, sticks, leaves and flowers, throughout our practice, on our altars, as offerings and in our spells.

Go out into nature and see what she has to offer, but do it respectfully, and don’t forget that you can incorporate the use of flowers with colour magic!
